The Michael J. Cadigan, Jr. Post 46 has been a part of Beverly Farms since 1919 when assuming the responsibilities from the G.A.R. that was formed in Beverly Farms in 1886, a long, proud and traditional legacy.
The Post is currently holding a drive to collect items to send to Military Personnel serving in the Armed Forces especially those in Iraq or Afghanistan. If anyone knows of Men and woman in the Military please call one of the officers listed above.
Some of the items requested are as follows.
Batteries AA and AAA
CD's and DVD's
Powered Drink Mix
Telephone Calling Cards
Small Packaged Crackers/Peanut-Butter
Dry Soup Mix/Microwavable
All items can be left at the Farms Fire Station or by calling any of the American Legion Posts officers. If you would like to support this program with a monetary contribution this would help us with purchasing calling cards or help with the postage. Checks can be made out to the Michael J. Cadigan Post 46.
We will be having an unserviceable flag burning ceremony some time after the first of the year. It will be conducted in conjunction with the annual Christmas tree burning at West Beach. If you have any worn, torn and unserviceable flags they can also be placed in a bag and dropped at the Fire Station or again call one of the officers above.
The Legion is now preparing for our traditional annual Memorial Day Parade to be held on Monday, May 25, 2015 at 0930. The Legion invites all Veterans to participate in the Parade, in or out of uniform. We also invite the public to attend this small but humble parade
